Well, Baltimore never let's us down. Life never really lets you down at all if you don't let it. I mean, life's life, right? It's not its fault that things go wrong, they're all for some greater learning experience. But I digress... Baltimore rocked!!! Just like it always does. I have some video photage (taken with infrared, so I'll have to see how that translates) of the gang there. It was really great to see everyone. I have to show you Ryan's tattoo. That was really hot!! Ryan, Courtney, Erin, Cashmire, Bambi, Brian, Anne, Mel, and Tiffany were all there. Kelly the bartender was great, and thank you so much to Mel for setting up the show. I can't wait to get down to all of you again. If I missed anyone, please email and yell at me personally!!
The show was great. Lot's of great people, great energy, people up dancing, sexy attire, drinks were flowing (even if perhaps more than they should have been at times), dancing, all the elements that you could ask for for a terrific time.
So... we carried it on into the night. While Sean and Romer were getting a battery from the WalMart, Joe and I decided to coral all the lonely shopping carts with the car. The people didn't take too kindly I think to us pushing around their carts, but they were going to have to get rounded up eventually. I was getting very good with the steering and all, so Joe got into one ane I pushed him and it around the parking lot and up onto the sidewalk of the store. The manager came out and went...apeshit (for lack of a better word)... and the two of us had to leave. She then went in to the store to announce to all the customers over the loud speaker that if they had friends in a red car with license plate blah blah blah... they were no longer here and if they return, they will be arrested. That's great!
{note: Dear Store Manager, the actions which took place outside of your establishment are not necessarily that of the band's. Not that you knew we were in a band, nor did you take the time from your miserable job to reflect on how much fun and non-damaging, this really was. Had you taken the time to see this, you could've held the video camera like I asked, and we would have split any money that Jackass would have given us for the video.}
{side note: to the owner of the Service station whose letters we changed on your sign to read "Die Assholes"... this probably does not relate to you. Sorry}
Anyway, life is about living. This does not mean that I am encouraging anyone to do anything illegal or wrong, harmful to others physically, psychologically, spiritually, or mentally, but I am telling you to live life. Life is not about some bullshit rules that you live ever in fear of stepping out of bounds half an inch. Life is about finding your true purpose, being good to others, being a decent person. You can all be my friends, regardless of sex, color, religion, etc. , however, I will forever feel bad for any of you who spend their lives in constant search of money, or of following some stiff-necks in DC, or of obtaining the next material object. Life is for living. Those that can not do this, those that can not share and spread some good with those around them, those that can't take the time to say hi to others, or to help others, well then you're already living in Hell and I feel for you. Those who are in constant fear of what the world thinks of you, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah......I'm not! Piss off!
I'm sobering up...hmmm....where was I going with all of this? Anyway, thank you all for coming and I hope to see you all at the Christmas Party.
So I got home that morning very late, no sleep and had to get to Connecticut to be Spiderman for Collin's birthday. It was really cool (minus the slightly red eyes), and was an invite back (since I had done the older brother's birthday earlier in the year). So after freezing off the spidernads, I made my way to Rocky's for another great time. {sidenote: thanks for the coffee Dunkin Donuts. See, I told you I was gonna rob you!} Rocky's that night was great. It was very well-filled in the beginning, the glasses were flowing well (thanks to our great bartenders), it was nice to see Katie and her mom again, it's been awhile. Saw Jack and his wife from down New Jersey way, that was cool. Tons of people, I have some of you in my notebook, but I'm trying to do this from memory...
Anyway, a great time was had by all. Welcome back Kevin, and thanks to Mike (old Ruffian fiddler) for stepping in. Great to see you too. I got snowed in at NYC, Jamie's house.... with Mugsy the dog. We've been watching movies and going over film.
Sorry to Nyack for missing the benefit due to the snow. Drop us a line, we'll do it again. Oh shit, I got my car hit!!! Well I guess I have to come out and deal with this now. At least they stopped, that's very honest of them. Cool! I guess I have to go deal with this for now. I guess I'll get a coffee while I"m out and walk Mugsy. Hope everyone is doing well out there in the snow. Hope my insurance is up. Actually, I hope their's is, I was parked!!
Talk to you all later Peace! Dan

Hey guys- just stepping from this beautiful snow outside. Good ol Jameson, never freezes. And the neighbors wonder why I wear a t-shirt most of the winter. Anyway, I just want to say a quick something about the gigs last weekend, and about the one that was missed at the Claddagh. The wedding at Connelly's was really great and I think that everyone there had a great time. The Rocky Sullivan's gig last week, like every week was great. A quick shout out to Joe, Timothy, Rocky, and Pat from NJ for coming. Great to see you guys. Sorry about all the confusion down at the Claddagh, we look forward to seeing you guys soon. It's really great bumping into so many people in NJ that really seem to enjoy the band. I have fun being out and bumping into people that come over "holy cow! aren't you the guy from that Irish band...the Ruffians? You guys were great! What are you doing here?" We'll be back soon Ben. I don't want to put too much today, I want to keep people going to Sean's Dec. 2nd entry!! But things are looking really great. We've been recording with Sean Sheridan and it sounds great. Real balls and in your face action. You'll love it. Well, sleep and I have not been the best of friends lately, I'm afraid I've been ignoring it. With the snow today, I guess I'm not bumping into Sean, so I think I'm gonna make myself a nice hot totti and grab some winks (now that the re-write is done). Lot's happening in life right now. Feel free to get in touch with me and see all the plans I have for early next year. And look into the Ruffians tour in Ireland...get your names on the trip list now!
talk to you soon Dan

Hi Sean,
I read with great interest the article about The Ruffians in this week's Irish Echo.
You see, I'm the guy who wrote the "what a train wreck" review back in 1998, when I was writing the music column for the Irish Voice.
Believe me, I understand the limitations of space in an article. But I feel like I might not have gotten entirely a fair shake. Yes, I did make the "train wreck" comment and I'll stand by it. When I saw you guys that night it was a morass of false starts and out-of-tune guitars.
But I did give you high marks for high energy and having a loyal following. I also urged you guys to get back into the garage and work a little harder. If I thought you were "shite" I wouldn't have bothered...
I got the "Together for Christmas" cd and it's great. I've also seen you a couple of times since at Rocky's, and it's altogether better and tighter. I'm glad to see you guys making a name for yourselves. Maybe you did go back into the garage after all...
Anyway, just wanted to put in my two cents. Fair play to you guys for proving me wrong.
Best of luck, Tom Dunphy _____________________ Just wanted to share this and thank Steve from the Echo for the great article.I'd also like to thank St.Christopher for his continued support at Rocky Sullivans.
