we've all been a bit busy lately, but I just wanted to take a quick second in the middle of the night to thank everyone for their support. The new live at CBGB's is out, and Sean has the new stickers, so don't miss them. I've been wanting to comment about appreciation lately. There are so many good and bad things that take up so much of our time from week to week that we often overly taking the time to tell people how much we appreciate them.
I was wearing my Rythmn Bones shirt the other day and I'd like to begin there. I don't get to contact and thank that great group of people for all they've taught me, the way they inspire me, the way they put the Ruffians gigs up on their website. So many people ask me to teach them some bones in my travels and this is the place to learn. Check out their website, I think it's www.rythmnbones.com. If not, look it up on google.
Then I went to visit my dear friend Melissa, who was performing in a talent show at her college, and who did an excellent job. I missed seeing Joe, but he and Greg decided to come visit us at CB's the other day. Sean, Joe and I performed for the Hibernians in Monroe. It was great to feel appreciated by a couple of them in particular, and we're always happy to help Leo, Dennis, John, and all the other AOH gang there. On the way back we stopped by South Gate to see Aamon, Siobhan, and Teirney (I know that's wrong, sorry). Her fiance was there, as were some of the regulars. It's always great to be back there and we miss you all much.
Least I forget, thank you to the wonderful ladies from the Harp and Bard too. I don't know if I'm allowed to say your names yet, I'll check, but it's a pleasure, and please stop by and visit when you're around the inkwell.
Thank you to Alice, Kate, J, and Sean for all of your hard work even above and beyond what you all always do. Thank you to Jamie, my folks, my sisters for coming to our shows and putting up with us, all our loyal fans, thank you to Mel, Wench, Amanda, Erika, Mo, Ryan and Courtney, and everyone who emails me all the time. Remember to take the time to have fun this week, and recognize a friend or loved one, you never know when they may not be around anymore.
To the Blue Hawk Pub, thanks for the memories, it's a shame that you're closing your doors forever. Thank you God for all the wonderful opportunities you provide on a regular basis.

Remember, we're going really strong, we have new stickers, new albums coming...anyone who wants to be a part of one of the street teams, send us in an email. We accept all the help we can get.
peace out-
Dan

just wanted to send my condolences out to Jamie on the death of his Uncle. We're all with ya man. Hurry back soon, the gigs shine when you're there.

wow, this is really great. Things are really happening and I think the group is pulling together nicely as a team. We're in Night and Day Press all over the Jersey Shore, so make sure that you check that out. Hello to all the Blue Hawk pubbers out there!!
But this new Live At CBGB's CD is doing great!! Look for write-ups coming out everywhere, look for it in stores, and make sure you get an autographed copy from the website. If it's not in a store near you, ask them why not!!
We'll be at McKinnon's in Hartford this Friday, so look out CT. Look out Ruffians, that place is always wild. If you want to catch some of the hottest and craziest women around, you better be there boys, I have a feeling this one's gonna be a wild one!!
And on Saturday it's back to the Harp and Bard in Clifton, NJ. Also a great time and some awsome people. I may even get my guitar stand back!! Special greetings to all those traveling to see those gigs, and you know who you are!!
Anyone not on the mailing list, get on it now. Anyone looking at manning a Ruffians street team near you, or looking at filling stores near you with CD's, contact me soon. This is the year friends, let's go crazy and by next year, you may just be sitting back stage with us at some awsome places, drinking Jameson, fighting off the masses, and generally making a pleasant fool of yourself (and loving it!!).
John, John, Matt, Mike, Amanda, Heather, Erika, and all the many travelers, can't wait to see you all.
goodnight (or is it morning??). Damn reintegration of coffee after lent...I'd better kill it with Jameson!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. There's a mood about tonight, and it's hard to shake. The coffees that I've put off for 40 days didn't taste as good as I thought they would...even after the 5th one. The new Live at CBGB CD's are great and finally in our hands. I'm going to get them to many places, I'm working on it already. Happy Birthday to Alice!! Yah!!

It's a strange thing I'm realizing that I still double-knot my shoe, but that the time is finally coming to rule the world, at least for the short time that it chooses to stay around. It's all very odd indeed.

Sean's got some great new songs, and I even have a bunch that we have to go over. I'm really looking forward to this weekend's gigs. Hope you all can attend and are ready to draw in the Spring with a bang. Good old April 12th, Fort Sumter, the launch of the Civil War. Happy anniversary to that too, eh? How many have seen the new Louisianna Purchase nickels? The money keeps getting more and more fake, more and more of a show. It won't mean much soon anyway, it'll be gone, they might as well make it fun for the last couple of years. For all the shit said about France, at least they used to have cool money, with Le petite Prince pix and all.

So if you lock yourself in a room and drink coffee all day and speak total sense to yourself, is this madness? or is it sense? I mean of course minus the snails in their glasses that we're not sure if they're still alive. Except for Squiggee, he's alive (well actually he/she, aren't they hemaphrodites?). But it's really hard to tell with them and the whole sleeping for 3 years at a clip. I guess i just keep them for three years before burying them. I'd hate to bury them alive. It would be like colonial times, I'd have to put a bell and string that they could pull so people would know they were still alive and could come unbury them. It must be a hard existence. It's hard enough being buried alive in your own head and body for a month without being able to call out or move.

Anyway, I have to go do some situps, in case I drop the ol jumpsuit anytime soon. go work off the easter chocolate and drink more coffee. I'm out of Jameson tonight, so it'll be a long night.
lying up at the ceiling....
and thinking....
about what if I were a snail...
or buried alive....
again....
