Absolutely American

Yes, we all are. If you want to get to know two of us even better (Dan and me), you can check out the book under the same heading (just search for the title and it should pop up). David Lipsky is the author of this tale of four years of West Point. He first began this project writing for Rolling Stone, but it eventually turned into something bigger and better. I'm only half-way through it, but I've already had a few good laughs that can be found on pages 161, 167, 178, and a more serious note on 262 of the hardcover edition.

By no means am I trying to advertise a friend's book. It's already been complimented by all the rave reviews on all of the major networks and in the magazines. However, there is mention of me in this work, and I am especially proud of it. Apparently I have "the boozy good humor of a friar." (p.161, Absolutely American) It was only a few days ago that Kevin saw me stumbling around with my 'Victory' jug of Calimoxto and saw an uncanny resemblance between Mattie Mac and Friar Tuck...I don't disagree.

Here's to the city that never sleeps. We let a few Bostonians in on our little secret that you can sit at a bar 24 hours a day...you just have to know where to look, and it's probably not in New England.

Happy Birthday Joe Strummer.
Feile Geburtstag Katja.

Many of you have tried it, now you can vote on it!

Yes, the people of the calimoxto (a Basque word pronounced "calimocho") will rise.

So far it seems that you either love it, or hate it. There's no in-between.

Sorry to all. I have been receiving tons of personal mail to write again. I haven't meant to leave everyone out, I've been so busy with the production company, the t-shirts, the writing, and the Ruffians touring, I barely have time for a BJ&J. (barely!)

Things are looking really positive coming up. I can't wait for the Strummer show. The Ohio shows were great and I have to get back to a lot of pubs out there that want us back. Thanks to Bill for getting us in at the last minute. Talking to some mates from CT and it looks like we're going to be getting some gigs up around there, besides the Boston, Long Island, NJ and PA gigs coming up soon.

I'm mobile again the beginning of the weeks for the month of August and it feels great sitting in the diner writing all night, or sleeping in the car again. Man, I missed that. Anyone who wants to take a roadtrip and come visit me, we'll camp out somewhere and party all night, the State Troopers love finding my car in different spots in the mornings!

Don't forget to check out Far From Finished on their tour, and stay tuned for the Punk Fleadh. Hello to all you wonderful people who keep emailing me and asking me to write more. Where's the Baltimore group...I haven't heard from you guys in a bit. I love all the new friends in Ohio, Long Island, and Troy that we've been making. I'll get around to see some of you in my travels.

Drop me a line all and let's party. Life is about to become very fun. check out my acting in "Stairwells" in next year's Film Festivals.

See you soon
Dan

Damn...August is upon us. The crappy thing about August is that there are no official holidays. Not to worry though, we'll give you a reason to miss work.
